USAID PNFP HIV COMMODITY PROCUREMENT ACTIVITY

In 2021, USAID Uganda awarded the Private Not for Profit (PNFP) HIV Commodity Procurement Activity to JMS and its implementation has started. The Project aims at ensuring efficient and timely procurement of HIV commodities funded by USAID for the PNFP sector through JMS and will be implemented for the period of 5 Years.

The activity has the following objectives:

  1. To ensure efficient and timely procurement of HIV commodities funded by USAID intended for the PNFP sector, in compliance with USG regulations.
  2. To ensure that at least 85 percent of all orders are delivered on-time and in-full to the client i.e. the central warehouse or laboratory that USAID will designate.
  3. To improve the accuracy of supply and procurement planning of HIV commodities.
  4. To collect and submit samples for quality testing to the relevant subcontractor, as requested by USAID.
  5. To ensure the economical and timely shipping from manufacturers to the USAID-designated central warehouse or laboratory in Kampala.
  6. To ensure timely and cost-effective forwarding and customs clearance processing requirements.
  7. To maintain the flexibility to manage commodity transitions including the phase-out of existing commodities and the introduction of new commodities as per applicable.
