The US government through the USAID/Global Health Supply Chain program, and Global Fund, procure HIV commodities for private sector health facilities including antiretroviral (ARV) medicines, HIV test kits, laboratory supplies, Cotrimoxazole tablets, fluconazole formulations and other medicines for opportunistic infections. Joint Medical Store (JMS) warehouses and distributes these medicines and health supplies to 266 accredited private-not-for-profit (PNFP) health facilities providing ART services including the newly accredited CDC supported health facilities.
JMS operates a bimonthly order and delivery cycle where facilities submit a combined order and report with required logistics and patient data to receive commodities. The orders/reports for ARVs and OI medicines are submitted through the Ministry of Health’s integrated eLMIS for all commodities (web-based ARV ordering and reporting system (WAOS); orders for HIV test kits are submitted by email to JMS.
